With spring now beckoning and the sun beginning to make a welcome return, many homeowners across London are taking the opportunity to improve the appearance of their homes — both inside and out — by carrying out their annual spring clean.
While many household cleaning tasks can be tackled yourself or by a housekeeper,
window cleaning remains one of the most important — and most challenging — spring cleaning jobs. Achieving truly high-quality results, particularly for high-level and hard-to-reach windows, requires the skill, experience, and specialist equipment of a professional window cleaner.
As sunlight streams through your glass, built-up dirt, grime, and environmental residue quickly become more noticeable. Even if the interior of your home is spotless, your spring clean will never feel complete if your windows are left untreated.
External dirt has a habit of lingering — constantly reminding you it’s there. Left uncleaned, it continues to reduce natural light and detract from the overall appearance of your property.
Recently, Spick & Span Window Cleaners, based near East Dulwich and Herne Hill, were invited to assist with a spring cleaning project at a large contemporary home on a leafy residential road in Herne Hill.
To maximise the amount of natural sunlight entering the property, we used the
reach and wash window cleaning system for higher-level windows, combined with traditional hand-cleaning methods for lower-level glass.
In total, approximately thirty windows were cleaned. The floor-to-ceiling glass at the rear of the property was cleaned both internally and externally to ensure a flawless finish throughout.
Like many homes at this time of year, the windows had accumulated dust, grime, cobwebs, and snail trails, all of which significantly reduced light penetration. Internally, lower-level windows also showed handprints and smears from young children, requiring careful attention.
At the conclusion of the work, the homeowner’s reaction made it clear that the transformation had been fully appreciated. The sparkling results, increased natural light, and professional approach left a lasting impression.
