Today Spick & Span window cleaning went to Lowndes Square, on a window cleaning project to beautify the appearance of property on the north- west end of Belgravia.

The residential garden square that this property overlooks is formed of many archetypal grand terraces of stucco cream and white houses.

The Key issues in cleaning the windows were:

• Access issues. The windows at the back needed to be cleaned from a fire stairway and raised roof.
• The windows to be cleaned were very high. Located on the sixth floor.
• The top sash windows at the front were must-pained and needed cleaning from inside the property.
• The cleaning schedule had to coincide with the time that house staff were around.

All windows were accessed and cleaned and the transformation was amazing.

It was particularly pleasing to have reach the rear windows windows , which previously had not been cleaned.

The tools that were used to clean the rear windows were carbon-fibre pole which are light enough to work at heights. The method was eco-friendly as no chemicals were used. Instead we used purified water which leaves windows spotlessly clean.

The staff that attended the property during the cleaning was impressed by the results of the cleaning as well as the methods that were used.

This stunning four bedroom three bathroom period property with a balcony overlooking The Royal Albert hall has 20ft ceiling heights and large period windows.

The key issues in cleaning the windows of this property were:

• The building is grade II listed.
• The windows were located on the second floor.
• Care had to be taken not to dirty the neighbours windows below.
• The site was busy with pedestrians.
• Space at the back of the property was confined.
• The owner of the property was not present
• The windows needed to be cleaned to the highest standard
• All arrangements needed to be cleared with the porter and building manager

Through a combination of careful window cleaning and use of the best window cleaning equipment Spick & Span Window Cleaning  brought life back to one of London’s most remarkable houses.

Spick & Span were more than happy to attend to this call and pleased to be trusted to remedy the windows of this private residence in St John’s Wood which has been awarded a blue plaque by the English heritage society.
This Grade II listed house whose former owners are two of the most important artists of their time, James Tissot and Sir Lawrence Alma-Tadema was in urgent need of window cleaning at short notice.
The house is spread over 4 floors . It also has a 3 storey high area that was formerly an artist’s studio which now has very large glass panels.
The house had recently undergone external alterations and construction of a new guest house and swimming pool which were recessed around a sunken garden into the grounds. The renovation which has included the installation of very large amounts of glass which require the professional expertise of window cleaners.

This job took a two-man team around 6.5 hours to complete.

Today Spick & Span Window Cleaners went to clean the windows of a very large four storey semi-detached property in London Chelsea.

This luxurious Four bedroom, three bathroom property overlooks the Thames and is set near to Chelsea Old Church which is a royal heritage site. Located just yards from the property are the Thomas More Statue and a stone relief by Jacob Epstein.

Spick & Span window cleaners clean this property on behalf of this client as a regular maintenance program.

This property is set in Old Chelsea and has crittal windows and multi-paned sash windows. Many of the windows require a high pole to reach effectively.

There are skylights on the fourth floor which can only be reached with a 47ft window cleaning pole.

The windows at the rear of the property are cleaned from a balcony.

Because of the properties proximity to the Chelsea embankment traffic, the windows get dirty quickly. This means that for the properties windows to always look spick and span, regular cleaning is required.

After we visit is always very satisfying to see the transformation that window cleaning makes.

Today Spick & Span window cleaners were invited to clean the windows of a home on one of London’s most desirable roads. The house extends over six floors and has a double basement.

The windows of the house allow for natural light, however they were not performing to their full potential.

The property which backs on to Holland Park has a stunning vistas being located on the southern border of the park, which were somewhat restricted.

Spick & Span window cleaners provided  thorough window cleaning of the four front elevations of the house that are visible from the street. We also cleaned the subterranean basement light wells, family bedrooms and bathrooms, kitchen extension roof lights and bi-folding doors at the rear of the property.

How we increase natural light by window cleaning?

We remove dust particles and other obstructive material from glass so that natural light fills the space within. We do this by using the latest cleaning methods. Where possible we avoid chemicals so as to protect the environment. These methods we use also do not leave smears on the glass.

The level of natural light was again evident after this clean. The openness of the living space and the stunning views of the park were truly a joy to behold.

Today Spick & Span window cleaners were tasked with cleaning the windows and gates of an historic Hampton Court Manor House.

This eight-bedroom Manor House, originally built in 1740,  has a long history of high society connections.

The windows that required cleaning  were located on the lower ground, ground and two upper floors. Some of the windows were accessed from a first floor balcony. All windows including the frames were thoroughly washed both inside and out outside. Work commenced at the front on the outside of the building, and from inside at the top of the building.

The preferred method of cleaning outside was the reach and wash window cleaning method. On the inside all windows were washed using a solution that doesn’t leave smears.

This grand home was in need of experienced windows cleaners who could tackle this type of work.

Spick & Span were very happy to add this property to a long list of exclusive residences that we have had the pleasure to clean.

Some of the highlights of this cleaning experience were the views. Whilst cleaning we observed grazing deer in Bushy Park. We also saw historic walls built by King Henry VIII in 1540.

We were glad to have completed the project in a time frame that was allotted and to the approval of the property manager of this grade II listed building in Hampton Court.

One Kensington Gardens is a residential development. It has 9 floors and contains 97 apartments. This exclusive building is located in between De Vere Gardens and Victoria Road, and overlooks Kensington Gardens, hence the name.

Spick & Span were involved in cleaning the windows of a ground floor apartment which comprised of 8 very large floor-to ceiling windows. Each window had to be reached by long telescopic poles. There were railings in front of the windows which made access quite difficult. However the difficulty of access was overcome by the tools that were used.

The reach and wash method that is ideal system for cleaning difficult to access windows. Purified water which is pumped through brushes is used to scrub the windows. The windows dry naturally and completely spotless.

The client was very pleased with the end result. Based on the comments that were received after the window cleaner had completed the  work we expect that we may be employed to go back to clean the windows at one Kensington Gardens again in the not too distant future. We would be delighted to attend again to clean the windows of this stylish building close to the Royal parks.

Today Spick & Span Window Cleaners did some work on behalf of a PA who had been tasked with the job of  organising the window  cleaning of a 3 bedroom duplex property in Cadogan Square, London SW1.

Cadogan Square is in Knightsbridge and gets its name from the Earl of Cadogan. It is one of the most sought after areas to own a property. It is also one of the most expensive residential part of London.

This property which has just recently been acquired by the boss of the PA that booked us, is to be rented to tenants by the end of the week, hence the urgency of the booking.

This beautiful red-brick period property was like a rabbit warren within, containing numerous passages leading in to rooms that contained windows of various shapes and sizes.

The windows in the main living area were tall, perhaps 5 metres in height. On the lower floor, which essentially was a basement, there were three bedrooms. The master bedroom windows were difficult to access from inside as there were boxes that blocked the windows, but these were careful moved by the team before the cleaning commenced.

According to the PA , the personal cleaner had attempted to wash some of the internal windows herself but because it was too tricky had left smears and streaks, much to the chagrin of the tenant for whom this cleaning work had been undertaken.

All three bedrooms had outside courtyards, which meant that they could be cleaned from outside fairly easily, however it was necessary that specialised window cleaning equipment be used to reach the tall windows internally and to clean effectively the first floor windows externally.

Needless to say this PA, who’s used our services previously, was also on this occasion not left disappointed. In fact she is keen for us to  come to  clean the windows at  another property in the area that she manages on behalf of her boss.

Today Spick & Span window cleaners went to clean the windows at a location that has within it one of the most expensive flats in the country, this was  located in: One Hyde Park, a major residential development located in London Knightsbridge, SW1.

This super structure of a building located next to Hyde Park, is one many exclusive locations that we often find ourselves cleaning in.

Spick & Span window cleaners performed this at the request property managers working on behalf of this client. We carried out all the work with the utmost  discretion and in compliance with all protocol placed upon us by the One Hyde Park security.

This fifth floor at One Hyde Park, consistent with the rest of the residential building, is completely bounded in glass, much of which is maintained by the  in-house window cleaners, however it can become necessary to find windows who are able to clean the balconies of One Hyde Park, as these areas can be difficult to reach from window cleaning cradles.

We cleaned the windows of the balcony of the apartment in One Hyde Park both inside and outside. These large glass doors were remote controlled and allowed us access outside. From outside the property we were able to get close enough the window to scrub and aggravate the build up of dirt on the glass, which had been left from the London air.

It was clear that attempts had been made to clean the floor-to -ceiling glass of the doors before. These attempts however had been unsuccessful and had in fact made the windows look worse. They were thick with grease or detergent which had left stains. They also were very smeary.

We were able to rectify the work that had been done previously by using the correct solutions. We used telescopic poles, a applicator pad, squeegee, and cloths to remove stubborn marks.

The windows afterwards, looked spotless.
