Spick & Span Window Cleaning travelled to Knightsbridge, SW1X to carry out professional shop window cleaning as part of a renovation project on an iconic commercial building at Scotch Corner, Brompton Road.
The work was undertaken as a one-off commercial clean, although the contract has the potential to become a repeat service. Due to a very tight refurbishment schedule, the client required the work to be completed at short notice.
Early-morning commercial window cleaning
To minimise disruption and ensure public safety, work began at approximately 5:00am, before pedestrian traffic increased along this extremely busy stretch of Knightsbridge. This early start allowed our team to work efficiently while reducing hazards to passers-by and road users.
The tall shopfront — formerly home to a Burberry store — had become heavily soiled due to nearby building works, traffic pollution, and constant vehicle exhaust fumes. Given the building’s close proximity to the road, strict health and safety procedures were followed throughout the clean.
High-visibility hoses and safety cones were deployed to ensure compliance and protect both pedestrians and motorists. All ten shopfront windows, including frames, were thoroughly cleaned to a professional standard.
The windows needed to be spotless as the contractor was preparing to install vinyl advertising across the glass, making a deep clean essential prior to fitting.
Water-fed pole window cleaning techniques were used across most of the elevation, while standard-height windows were finished using traditional applicators, squeegees, and specialist window cleaning solutions to achieve a flawless result.
The transformation made a significant difference to the building’s appearance, restoring clarity and impact to this prominent retail frontage.
