Today Spick & Span window cleaners were contracted to clean the windows of a large house, which is located between Park Lane and Berkely Square, Mayfair, in the City of Westminster.
This grade II-listed five-storey mansion was in need of professional window cleaning services on both the inside and outside of the windows. This contract was undertaken as part of a clean-up operation.
The windows of this imposing mansion, with a 90ft frontage and floor area of 22,788 sq ft, took 2 days to clean and the results of cleaning made a marked difference to the windows and the neatness of the properties appearance.
The window cleaning equipment that was required for the work needed to be professional, robust but at the same time versatile enough to clean the windows of this very large neo-Georgian style building as many of the windows were very big and difficult to reach.

Window cleaning stately home in Belgravia near Buckingham Palace
Today Spick & Span window cleaners went to Belgravia SW1V, near Buckingham Palace, to clean the windows of a 6 storey stately home set in a historic terrace in Belgravia. This window cleaning commission was one of many that Spick & Span have carried out in the SW1 postal code area in recent months due to high demand for window cleaning in this part of town.
The client came across us after checking window cleaning reviews on the internet and had decided to enquire of Spick & Span after reading positive reviews and testimonials. After the client made contact with us by telephone, he provided a brief description of his property, including his address and his preferred dates, and after a quotation was sent by email, and accepted, within just a few days a site visit was made, and window cleaning commenced.
Initial reactions were that a 60ft length carbon fibre pole would be needed to access the windows at the top this very tall and beautifully proportioned Georgian building also that great care would need to be taken around the very fragile old Georgian window casements. The façade of the building also was very ornate and needed tender treatment and care taken so as not to damage the brick-work.
Weather conditions were windy which made the job more difficult than it would’ve been otherwise.
No chemicals were used during the clean, only water which had been purified off- site through a five stage reverse osmosis system, which when dry leaves windows spotlessly clean.
As this property was set in a busy location just off of Belgrave square, near Knightsbridge, care was also taken to make sure that the many pedestrians that were walking in front of the building whilst it was being cleaned were kept safe. Spick and Span did this by ensuring that safety measures were put in place to control the environment and make it as safe as possible such wearing appropriate PPE using barrier tape and having safety cones in place.
The water-fed pole method of window cleaning was employed during this cleaning operation and proved to be very suitable in reaching the windows that were high up in this large Georgian stately home. The purified water that was used rinsed the windows clean leaving them bright and shiny and neat in appearance afterwards.
Spick & Span window cleaners work regularly in SW1 and through experience have become skilled at cleaning large stately homes and period properties. We’d be delighted to add you to our list of window cleaning clients that we work for in SW1.

The client’s property was on a busy street in Kensington facing the Victoria and Albert museum, because of the high amounts of vehicles that pass along the road his windows had become extremely dirty and required external cleaning on the front and back of the property.
This raised ground floor duplex apartment, set in a mansion house on Queens gate, South Kensington, received thorough cleaning with purified water and a water fed pole and brush.
The client requested last minute emergency window cleaning and was doubtful as to whether his demand could be met in time, however he was very satisfied to have got a response within a few hours of his enquiry even though his email was sent on a Sunday.
The window cleaning services were carried-out within 24 hours, one day later on the Monday, which was the day that he desperately needed this service.

Knightsbridge conservatory cleaning
Conservatory cleaning in Knightsbridge today was more challenging than usual, because the conservatory that was cleaned by the Knightsbridge window cleaner was located on the 4th floor of a roof terrace. To make up for the difficulty of this cleaning work however were the spectacular views of many iconic London buildings that were noticed in the vicinity. These stunning city views went some way to compensating the window cleaner cleaning this conservatory. As conservatory cleaning is more physically demanding task than most other window cleaning tasks.
Spick & Span window cleaners arrived on site in Knightsbridge at 8:30am, on the first impression the property was beautiful, situated in a Brompton Square apartment in Knightsbridge, London, SW3. This very attractive Georgian period, 4th floor apartment, is just a short walk from Harrods, and located just off Brompton Road. After completing a full risk assessment, the Knightsbridge conservatory cleaner selected a host window cleaning of tools that would get the conservatory and windows looking like -new again. The tools that were best suited to cleaning this conservatory were: a telescopic pole, abrasive pads, cleaning detergent, brushes, and a portable trolley with a water pump, and of course water.
The conservatory was in desperate need of a Knightsbridge window cleaner, as according to some, the conservatory had not been cleaned for at least 15 years. This estimate is quite likely correct. There were green algae and sun baked dirt and dust which were very stubborn to remove. There were also dust deposits that had blown in from nearby basement excavation work.
The homeowner was very keen to get this conservatory cleaned thoroughly as according to her own admission’ it had been somewhat neglected over years.’ This ‘Glass veranda’ as it was described is used as a dining area, and place for guests who visit, to enjoy the Brompton road and Knightsbridge skyscape.
It required a lot of elbow grease on the part of the Knightsbridge window cleaner to scrub away this dirt, but the results were very satisfying to see afterwards.
After thoroughly washing the roof panes and rinsing with purified water all the side glass panels of the conservatory were washed.
In all this Knightsbridge window cleaner and conservatory call-out took around 2.5 hours to completed from start to finish.
Needless to say that the propertys owner was very satisfied with how clean the conservatory looked after, which also was very rewarding to hear.
Reaching windows whatever the height in Belgravia
Belgravia window cleaning was required today by a client there who was anxious to have the windows of her 6 storey property, just a short step from Belgrave Square, cleaned by a professional window cleaning company in the Belgravia, Knightsbridge area.
The client had been dissatisfied with the windows of the period property being in a murky and unclean state, but felt that there was no alternative to this situation, given that the windows of houses in Belgravia are so high up and difficult to reach and that most ‘sensible’ window cleaners would not venture to use ladders to reach windows located at such colossal heights, such as those contained in Belgravia properties.
Because of this train of thought, like so many in central London, she felt resigned to putting up with dirty windows on the top floors and not having the maximum amount of natural light and sunshine reach into the home but made do with the status quo, dirty windows, being concerned with cleaning just the lower windows and interior window cleaning.
Upon investigation it seems that many residents in Belgravia would like to have a regular and reliable window cleaning service with a company that they can trust, however it seems that few window cleaners work in Belgravia offer window cleaning services to owners of very large properties, sticking to just smaller homes and shops in central London. As a result of this avoidance may could be left thinking that windows at a height above the 2nd level are un-cleanable, much less as a 6 storey townhouse, such as the one owned by the client in Belgravia who’s windows Spick & Span cleaned today.
Granted for traditional window cleaners within close proximity to Belgravia it would be impractical and inadvisable to take on such a task because of the risk to window cleaner and the potential damage that could be caused to the paintwork. Many residents of Belgravia are familiar with the man with a ladder type window cleaner but had not been aware of modern window cleaning practices that are completely adept and well suited to sympathetically restore sash window glass to their peak performance enabling them to get back to being translucent and making a neat and smart appearance.
Spick & Span are window cleaners who reach higher heights for residents within Belgravia

Blackheath window cleaning was required today by a client there who manages an artisan bakery in Blackheath village. It was stated to us that the windows of the bakery hadn’t been cleaned for ages and required a good going over on the inside and outside and so we went to this location well prepared. Spick & Span were required to attend this job during unsociable hours so as to cause minimum disturbance to businesses, but this is not a problem and we were more than happy to comply with the request.

Spick & Span window cleaners were more than happy to provide window cleaning services to this bakery which is a hub of the Blackheath village community and renders a very necessary purpose.
Spick & Span used glass cleaning detergents that are ideal for removing grime, fat deposits and flour residue which are common to food establishments, such as a bakery. The windows were very grimy and some of display area was difficult to clean because of the bread shelves. These obstacles were surmounted by using telescopic poles as well as window cleaning ladders. Some areas required window cleaning more than once. After carrying out a very thorough window clean, inside and outside of the premises the glass gleamed and the bakery had a much neater appearance enabling the artisan bakers to display the produce in the window display area, which is key area that the bakery is able to use to generate more sales.
Because of the difficulty to locate professional and reliable window cleaners in Blackheath
and because of the level of professionalism that Spick & Span window cleaners have displayed. This artisan bakery in Blackheath village have made and arrangements to contract Spick & Span window cleaners to provide a weekly clean of the bakery on the inside and outside of the windows and other windows of the shop are being considered to be added to the regular window cleaning contract.

Georgian property window cleaning in the Royal borough of Greenwich
Greenwich window cleaning was required today by a client there who was anxious to have the windows of her quaint 3 storey Georgian property, just a short step from Greenwich park and the observatory of Greenwich, cleaned by a professional window cleaning company local to the Greenwich, Greenwich Park area.
The Greenwich client had been dissatisfied with the windows of the period property being in a murky and unclean state, but her regular window cleaner had retired a few years ago and she had not been able to find a replacement.
Given that the windows of houses in Crooms Hill, Greenwich are so high up and difficult to reach most local Greenwich window cleaners would not venture to use ladders to reach windows located at such heights, such as those contained in many Greenwich Georgian properties.
Many who live in Greenwich feel resigned to putting up with dirty windows on the top floors and allow dirt to restrict natural light and sunshine from reaching into the home, which effects the ambience and feel of the home.
It seems that many residents in Greenwich would like to have a regular and reliable window cleaning service with a company that they can trust, however likely few window cleaners who work in Greenwich provide window cleaning services that is up to the task of reaching the top windows of very large properties.
Granted for traditional window cleaners within close proximity to Greenwich it would be impractical and inadvisable to take on such a task because of the risk to window cleaners and the potential damage that could be caused to the paintwork. Internal glass partitions are becoming increasingly more and more common among homeowners bringing rays of light into dark covens of the home. Many contemporary and luxurious properties in London’s swanky neighbourhoods have glazed light wells and panels such as those that cover excavated basements or glass corridors that bring natural light into the hallway, Glazed roof panel and roof lights are also on the increase.
Many window cleaners neglect to offer these services and many domestic staff are completely ill equipped to cope with them during their cleaning duties.
These glass areas within contemporary and refurbished properties situated in London can become a nuisance to look at for homeowners when they are contaminated with grime and dust and the odd spiders web.

End of tenancy window cleaning in East Dulwich
Today Spick & Span window cleaners visited a property in East Dulwich as part of an end-of tenancy window cleaning service to clean windows there on behalf of a tenant who was in the process of moving home.
The client, who was busy cleaning the flat in preparation for a move away from this rented property in East Dulwich, needed all the windows to be left spotlessly clean to satisfy the requirements of her tenancy agreement.
Many Landlords stipulate that in order for a tenant to receive back their full deposit the property must be left spotlessly clean by the tenant or as the agreement often defines ‘in the state that the property was at the time it was moved in to’.
Moving home can be a stressful affair at the best of times, add to this the uncertainty of receiving back a large deposit, which often is needed as a down payment for the new rental property, and it becomes clear why employing a domestic cleaner or window cleaner, is the sensible option for most London tenants who have come to the end of their tenancy .
Not only will a good residential window cleaner help lighten the load of client who has come to end of his/ her tenancy, but often times, professional window cleaners can be a good source of knowledge to tap into during this process . It could be the case that a good window cleaner may even advise you on some domestic cleaning tips as part of the bargain.
