Local window cleaner to West Norwood

Today Spick & Span window cleaners took just fifteen minutes to arrive on location at West Norwood from their base in Camberwell, a short distance away, making them window cleaners local to the West Norwood , SE27 area.

After arrival at the three bedroom  property in West Norwood a brief assessment was made as to the cleaning methods that would be used. It was noted that some of the windows at the back of the property would be difficult to access by placing a ladder outside , because the property was set over two floors and built on a hill , meaning that the windows were very high up, also bay windows protruded  out underneath the target windows, making ladder access a problem, but as the client required the inside windows cleaned as well as the outside it was decided that the best way to approach this job would be to clean all windows from inside of the property.

The client was very realistic in her expectations stating that the windows had long been neglected, and certainly had not been cleaned in the years that she had occupied the property, nevertheless good cleaning results were accomplished through the methods employed.

Spick & Span window cleaners began work at the top floor of the property where the bedrooms were located, because of water spots on the glass, a water mark removal chemical was applied to some of the windows and left to penetrate, after which it was cleaned and then rinsed. In one of the second rooms there was putty on the glass that surrounded the window frame causing the window to look unsightly this was scraped off after the glass had been washed. In the stairwell area there was a large Sash window that was badly water marked and stained and while this did not come up perfect, because of damage to the glass itself, it was greatly improved through use of a water spot removal chemical and cleaning. After these areas frosted glass was cleaned in the bathroom and toilet and three sash windows were cleaning in the lounge and dining area two of which required paint removal cleaning. A difficult to reach window was cleaned above the kitchen sink and a stained glass window near the front door was cleaned with a damp micro-fibre cloth and  a fanlight window above the front door in the communal entrance was cleaned.

The client, who was a perfectionist, was very satisfied with the results. The whole job from start to finish took three hours ,for one window cleaner to complete.

To clean the outside, the bottom sash window was raised and an extension pole was used and the cleaning process was repeated .

With the multi-paned sashes a quicker cleaning method was used involving a wet and dry scrim. First the window pane was scrubbed with a wet scrim and afterward a dry scrim was used to buff out any smears. On the second floor two french doors, with glazed panels were cleaned, the tops of these were cleaned with an extension pole, and the lower parts were cleaned with a mop and squeegee. A ladder was used to access  the taller paned sashes on the ground floor of the house.

At the the front of the property was a basement which meant reaching the living room window would be difficult, however Spick and Span windows cleaners came equipped and made use of the latest window cleaning technology on the job, by employing ladder-less window cleaning, which is the method of cleaning windows with purified water that is pumped through an extension pole with a brush on the end. With this equipment the window cleaners were able to clean the window effectively.

The homeowner remarked at how much difference it had made with the windows now made cleaner.

On the interior  glass of the conservatory were finger marks and stains and other marks that needed cleaning , which their toddler had made .

To get the right cleaning results ,Spick and Span used an extension pole and the purified water method of cleaning, rather than traditional window cleaning methods on the conservatory roof glass, as this enabled the window cleaner to aggravate the dirt  that adhered to  glass on the roof top, also the bristles on the brushes that the window cleaner used were mono-filament, these were used to effectively lift off the grime . The windows were then rinsed with purified water, the water then  left to evaporate. The  end result of this was that the conservatory roof glass panels were all  left gleaming, the only marks which remained were some spots left by the oil based glue this was scraped and rinsed. When cleaning inside  it was vital that no water damage be caused. Floor-to-ceiling glazed kitchen extension cleaning in East Dulwich

Glass extension window cleaning in Dulwich2

Today Spick and Span window cleaners helped a family in East Dulwich get some closure to what had been a long episode of building works and renovation projects within their new home.

The five bedroom Edwardian house situated near Alleyn’s school in East Dulwich has for  many months resembled a building site, much to the dismay of the owners as builders ran over schedule due to extremely wet weather, but the finishing touches were added today when Spick and Span arrived and the windows were cleaned.

The main part of the renovation , and the area that had not been cleaned since it’s construction was the kitchen extension at the rear of the house. The kitchen extension all of which is glazed with floor-to-ceiling, two by two metre, panes of glass and three glazed bi-folding doors and has glazed panels in the roof was in desperate need of cleaning, as cement splashes were on the glass, the metal frames of the extension also required scouring due to the the presence of dust and other debris. After Spick and Span window cleaners cleaned this glazed section of the house the homeowner remarked of the improvement.

At the top of the property were two bedrooms that between them contained   four velux windows, but only three were accessible, these were cleaned by using a damp cloth  to collect dirt and a dry cloth to remove any smeary marks that remained.

The middle storey contained the master bedroom which had four casement windows the upper section of which contained leaded glass, this glass was cleaned with damp micro fibre cloths, as well as a T- bar  window cleaners mop a squeegee and scrim.

The glazed roof lights of the kitchen extension were cleaned from out of one of the back bedrooms, after the sash windows in those rooms were cleaned  and after that the opaque, frosted, glass of the bathroom was cleaned.

The main lounge area of the downstairs of the property mirrored the master bedroom, having casement windows partly containing leaded glass, these were treated as the windows in the master bedroom, and were washed using traditional window cleaning methods.

All that was left to be cleaned in the inside were the  stain glass windows that  surrounded the front door, these were very gently cleaned to prevent them from being damaged.

The external  windows  at the top of the front and side of  the property were left spotless after they all were brushed  clean with purified water and a carbon-fibre window cleaning extension pole, the lower windows were cleaned traditionally with the use of  a small ladder.
